Veien tilbake til livet: Rehabilitation Support for Wounded Ukrainian Defenders

CodeIT Innovation is launching a networking and fundraising campaign to raise 100K NOK & find new partnerships in Norway for the long-term rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian defenders. We also invite Norwegian businesses & organizations to build a supportive network helping them return to an active social and professional life.

All proceeds go directly to our trusted partner, NGO "Lubart Suprovid", the dedicated medical patronage service of the 20th "Lubart" Brigade of Ukraine.

As Norway's active support for Ukraine enters its fourth year, this campaign is an opportunity for Norwegian businesses and individuals to make a concrete, traceable difference — not through government channels, but directly in the rehabilitation room, where soldiers fight their second battle: the one back to life.

What does Lubart Suprovid do?

Lubart Suprovid professionally coordinates comprehensive care for wounded soldiers from the exact moment of injury — through complex surgeries, specialist treatment and long-term rehabilitation — all the way to their reintegration into civilian life. This involves guidance throughout complex surgeries, specialized care, long-term physical and mental rehab, and support during the transition period after treatment ends. Their work is documented, audited and verifiable.

The patronage service started to operate in September 2025 and currently takes care of 200+ wounded defenders and their families; the number is subject to change depending on the needs of the brigade.

A mission that hits close to home

This is not an abstract cause for us. CodeIT Innovation doesn't just create high-skilled jobs for Ukrainians — we actively support the people we know personally.

Our own UX/UI designer, Oleksandr, is currently an active-duty service member with the Lubart Brigade.

This campaign is about helping real people return to their families, their communities, and their futures they fought for.

We are looking for partners

This campaign is a call to Norwegian businesses, organisations, and individuals who can offer long-term options of partnership related to rehabilitation of Ukrainian defenders.

Lubart Suprovid's work extends beyond the clinic, and there are concrete, meaningful ways to get involved:

  • Physical & mental rehabilitation in Norway.  If your facility or organization provides physical or mental health rehabilitation services, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss hosting wounded soldiers of the 'Lubart' Brigade for their recovery.
  • Rest and recuperation for defenders and their families. If you are a travel agency, hospitality business, retreat center, or organization with the resources to host, we need your partnership. We are seeking partners to help organize and sponsor restorative breaks for wounded soldiers, their wives, and children.  After months of grueling medical treatments and separation, a peaceful retreat gives these families a vital space to heal emotionally, reconnect, and find the strength to face the long road of physical rehabilitation together.
  • Inclusion in everyday life.  We are also looking to partner with organizations in accessibility, adaptive housing, assistive tech, and disability support. In collaboration with 'Lubart Suprovid', our goal is to assist service members in transitioning back to daily life, preserving their independence, dignity, and full inclusion within their communities.

Support Opening of Rehab Center in Ukraine

Lubart Suprovid is preparing to open a new dedicated rehabilitation facility for the Brigade's wounded, located in Lutsk, Ukraine.

We are helping them to find partners — medical equipment suppliers, technology providers, or corporate donors — who can contribute equipment, resources, or funding to help get this center operational.

This support can include equipment donations, providing resources, expert guidance, or the funding required to get the center fully up and running to welcome wounded defenders.

 Why are extra funds needed?

Although the Ukrainian state healthcare programme (NHSU) covers basic rehabilitation, there are strict limits that fall far short of the reality for soldiers with complex injuries:

  • The state funds a restricted number of inpatient sessions — but severe blast injuries, spinal trauma, or amputations require continuous care for many months, or even years. Without additional support, many defenders risk losing the hard-earned progress they have already made.
  • Many defenders require highly specialised reconstructive surgeries or medical evacuation abroad — costs far beyond standard Ukrainian healthcare budgets.
  • There is a constant shortage of specialised braces, splints, and high-pressure support systems needed to stabilise limbs and spine during early-stage movement recovery.

Providing complex prosthetics remains one of the biggest challenges

The price of modern, high-tech prosthetics far exceeds government funding. For example, a two-finger prosthesis can cost about 1,000,000 UAH, which is why we often rely on extra support from partners and donors to secure these devices for our patients.

Among the most urgent needs right now: MRI scans, CT scans, and specialist medical tests — impossible to access through public clinics due to overwhelming waiting lists, high costs, or because state healthcare caps have already been exceeded.
